Photography Ideas When You're Stuck at Home
Looking for photography ideas for when you're stuck at home? The weather doesn't always cooperate when we want to or even have to take pictures. Here are some digital photography tips to help you take better pictures. These tutorials will give you ideas about what to photograph while at home. The weather has kept me inside for the past few days. The gray, rainy weather seems to stretch out forever sometimes. While I love to take pictures outdoors the weather doesn't always inspire me. There are plenty of interesting pictures you can take around the house. Thinking about taking pictures in your home can change the way you look at ordinary objects. Here are a few ideas to get you started. Still Life Photography Try taking pictures of objects around your home. Furniture, shoes, a discarded sock on the floor, pens, books...the number of objects you can photograph in your home is endless. When you're taking a still life the object you're photographing can't display emotion so it's up to you to try to put emotion and interest into the picture. You can do this with texture, camera angel, light, and shadow. Using soft moody light helps give your still life depth. You can achieve this with light from a window or filtered light from a lamp. Try putting scarves over a lamp to change the quality of the light. Be careful not to burn your house down though. You can also use reflectors to help soften shadows. Macro Macro photography is fun and is great to try when you're stuck inside on a rainy day. You can try taking macro pictures of various textures in your home like the carpet or a chair leg. Anything you think of can be photographed in macro to reveal interesting textures.
