Everything You Want to Know About Digital Photography Backgrounds
Digital photography backdrops are part any good home photography studio. There are several types of digital photography backgrounds you can use. If you want you can even make your own backdrops using Photoshop after you've taken the picture.
Backdrops are commonly used in professional portrait photography to help set the mood of the photograph. You can use a seamless backdrop behind your subject made from a variety of materals and in various colors. You can even use digital photography backdrops that are painted to look like outdoor scenes, like they used for your school pictures when you were in elementary school. I know you remember those.
Most portrait photography backgrounds are make from painted or dyed muslin. You can buy these protrait photography backdrops from photography stores or online. If you consider yourself good at DIY you might want to try making them yourself. You can use a bedsheet or if you want a rougher more authentic look use a muslin or canvas. Pick up these fabrics at a theatrical or arts supply store.
Before you do anything to the fabric be sure to wash it. You can use fabric paint and a sponge to paint the fabric or dye it with fabric dye.
Don't want to use a physical backdrop. Maybe you already took the picture and have decided that a backdrop would improve the look of the finished portrait. Don't worry. that can be done too. That's part of the beauty of digital photography. You can use photoshop to create your own backdrops after you've alread taken the picture.
